Natürlich als leidenschaftlicher Gärtner und zukünftiger Selbstversorger, darf das Thema Terra Pretta oder Pflanzenkohle nicht fehlen. Ich habe mir einige Dokumentationen zum Thema Terra Pretta und dessen Herstellung angeschaut. Selbstverständlich war ich begeistert. Äußerst interessant und beeindruckend, wie die Indios schon damals im Einklang mit der Natur gelebt haben. Viel Achtung und Zuneigung, hat die Natur es gedankt und ihnen fruchtbares Land hinterlassen, von dem heute noch viele Gärtner profitieren.

1. Definition​

Im portugiesischen bedeutet Terra Pretta „Schwarze Erde“. Die Pflanzenkohle haben die damaligen spanischen und portogiesischen Siedler wie Christioph Kolumbus 1492 bei den Ureinwohnern im Amazonas entdeckt. Daher kommt auch die Herkunft des Begriffes. Die einheimischen haben ihr Werk so sehr wertgeschätzt, dass sie die Pflanzenkohle auch schwarzes Gold getauft haben. Das hat natürlich zu Fehlinterpretationen geführt. Schließlich haben die Kolonisten bei Gold eine andere Vorstellung. Wie heute die meiste Bevölkerung. Vielleicht denken einige von euch an Platin 😊

2. Besonderheiten der Pflanzenkohle​

Das besondere an der Pflanzenkohle ist, dass sie wie ein Schwamm wirkt und sämtliche Nährstoffe, Flüssigkeit und Mikroorganismen aufnimmt und abspeichert, bis die Pflanzenwurzeln davon gebrauch machen.

Ein Gramm von Terra Pretta hat eine Oberfläche von 400 m². Das ist schon einiges, für die ganzen Mikroorganismen und Myzels der Pilze. Über die Besonderheit der Pilze habe ich bereits einen Artikel verfasst. Den findest du hier. Die Pflanzen werden resistenter gegenüber pathogene und überstehen längere Trockenperioden. Nachvollziehbar bei dem Klima in Südamerika.

3. Herstellung​

Die Indios haben die Terra Pretta aus allen Pflanzen- und Tierresten hergestellt, die sie zur Verfügung gehabt haben. Darunter zählen auch Fischgräten, Knochen und sonstiges wiederverwertbarer Überreste. Dabei haben sie alles mit einem gewissen Pyrolyseverfahren alles verbrannt.

Das besondere an diesem Verfahren ist, dass zum Beispiel bei Holz nur das Lignin verbrannt wird. Das ist die Substanz, die die Baumzellen die hölzerne Struktur verleihen. Im Anschluss wird Wasser, nach einigen Minuten der kontrollierten Verbrennung, herübergekippt. Das genaue Verfahren haben die Waldgeister auf ihren Blog hervorragend erklärt. Heutzutage kann die Pflanzenkohle in einem speziellen Holzvergaserofen hergestellt werden. Wahlweise kann man auch einen Kontiki, ein Loch verwenden. Dadurch kann die Herstellung der Pflanzenkohle mit einem gemütlichen Lagerfeuer kombiniert werden. 😊

4. Gebrauchshinweise​

Wichtig ist, wenn ihr die Pflanzenkohle selbst herstellt, dass sie zunächst noch NICHT aktiviert ist. Das bedeutet, dass der Rohstoff zunächst alle Mineralien und Mikroorganismen dem Umfeld entnehmen. Daher ist es nicht zu empfehlen inaktive Terra Pretta in die Beete einzuarbeiten. Dadurch werden die Pflanzen welkt und werden geschwächt.

Am Besten ihr gebt die Kohle in einen Bokashi-Eimer und Effektiven Mikroorganismen. Durch diese anaeorbe Kompostierung, vermehren sich die Mikroorganismen in der Pflanzenkohle.

 

Dadurch verwertest du deine Küchenabfälle zu 100%. Selbst gekochte Mahlzeiten kannst du hinzugeben. Das Ferment kannst du dann in deine Beete oder Balkonpflanzen einarbeite. Du verursacht weniger Entsorgungsaufwände und deine Pflanzen freuen sich über die Symbiose.

Wenn das dir zu aufwendig ist, kannst du auch Terra Pretta von Anbietern kaufen. Allerdings solltest du auf die Herstellung und Inhaltsstoffe achten. Der Poryaromatische Kohlenstoffanteil soll so gering wie möglich sein. Das ist ein Stoff, der bei der Verbrennung entsteht. Dieser kann als Filter verwendet werden. Unteranderem Umweltgifte. Diese können natürlich krebserregend sein. Das ist bestimmt nicht gut für eure Pflanzen.

Je gesünder die Pflanze ist, desto gesünder ist auch letztendlich der Mensch.

Für den Anfang habe ich auch Pflanzenkohle fremdbezogen. Der Produzent verwendet nur pflanzliche Substanzen. Es ist eine biovegane Herstellung. Hier findest du die Seite.

5. Fazit​
